How Does a Church Start a Columbarium Committee?

First get the approval of your pastor and church council to explore the possibility of building a columbarium onsite.
Ask the council to distribute a letter to all church members in the weekly bulletin and online. This letter should gage the interest among the church members. The letter should also ask what percentage of church members would like a single niche (1 urn) or a double niche (2 urns). Finally, the inquiry letter should ask for volunteers to join the Columbarium Committee.

The committee will investigate and determine the following:

Hiring a local contractor or landscape architect to determine the most suitable location at the church to build the columbarium. Interior vs. exterior installations have different requirements.
