A columbarium is a small mausoleum that houses urns instead of caskets. It contains a number of openings, or niches, and each niche contains the ashes of an individual. A columbarium can be small like those installed at a church or large like the ones seen in private and public cemeteries. They are often installed at locations that the decease individual was very fond like universities and retirement communities.
